PEARLS OF JUGGLING in America!

It would be so great to bring my book to the US and especially for the IJA festival this summer.

In exchange for signed copies of my book and t-shirts and LOVE I'm asking your help to fund my trip to the International Juggling Convention this year in Cedar Rapids!

The book took me five years of writing and preparing to complete it 2 years ago. The book's aim is to inspire jugglers to improve their creativity, expression and art side of juggling. Its scope is vast. Its a personal and professional handbook that sits perfectly on anyone's coffee table! Jugglers and non-jugglers all over are enjoying the book for its beautiful illustrations and concise and inspiring text.

The book in a certain sense is a bridge between juggling and the flow arts. There is something for everyone and new ideas seem to just explode out of it.

Until now in these two years I've been exclusively to conventions and meetings in Europe. My desire is to go to the International Jugglers Association (IJA) Convention this July in Iowa, USA. It's the longest running convention in the world and will be celebrating it's 70th edition this year. It's a convergence of some of the best jugglers in the world.

Together with my favourite new hobby of signing my books, I love holding workshops on various topics from the Pearls of Juggling – juggling and movement, creativity, playfulness, musicality, acting... my work is permeated with my vision of juggling blended with a long Yoga and Taiji practice not to mention the three intense years I spent in an International Physical Theatre school in the Swiss mountains!

The IJA convention is thrilled to have me there with my workshops and books. They are offering me a convention ticket in exchange for some articles on the ejuggle online magazine. But naturally they cannot fund my trip over. This is where I really need your help!

In exchange for your help I'll be giving away copies and t-shirts.
For those that won't be going to the convention I can also send signed copies to jugglers within the US and thus save greatly on postage from Europe.

I'll need around 1700 GBP for the flights, food and lodgings (plus the crowdfunding and processing fee of around 8 per cent in all) which makes the total roughly 1890 GBP
That's about 70 copies of the book!

If we manage to reach this goal I'll also stop off a few days before in New York and meet any jugglers that are interested there. The rest of the trip is uncertain for now but I'd love to hold some workshops elsewhere too.

Pearls of Juggling isn't so easy to get hold of but after the IJA I'll try my best to make sure it's more easily available.

The earlier I get funded the cheaper the flights of course :)

Thanks for funding and sharing and helping to make this become real.
Keep having fun.
Anthony

  • Pearls Of Juggling Review By Haggis Mcleod

Pearls of Juggling picks up where Zen of Juggling left off. Not only is it a guide to how to be a better juggler but it is a handbook on personal development. Having taught juggling for over 30 years, the book resonates with ideas and philosophies that I myself have come to understand through teaching thousands of people how to juggle. Appropriate effort in everything we do. Never trying too hard and only using enough energy to make the trick work, no more, no less. Not only is it a valuable resource, it is beautiful illustrated and the print quality is second to none. A wonderful present for aspiring jugglers and a beautiful gift for aspiring human beings. It's the sort of book you don't just read and then place on the shelf. You find yourself sharing it with others. That reminds me, who's got my copy? Buy your own!

Review of Pearls of Juggling by Andreas Anders-Wilkens
Anthony´s "Pearls of Juggling" is the most entertaining juggling book I have ever seen. And I have seen many indeed - I´ve got about 100 on my own, and I have certainly seen most existing books (in particular) in 1994 when I wrote my first juggling book and had to check what had been written up to then to decide what is left to cover or focus at.
Have fun with the incredible drawings and philosophical aspects of juggling it covers - you won´t find anything like that anywhere else.
