My Travel Story

I am a student who is researching turtles and their habitats in Sri Lanka. As for my postgraduate project, I was supposed to do a project in Sri Lanka regarding turtles. So when I studied the life of turtles and their habitats, it is a bit worry that most of them are getting destroyed by human activities.

I contacted a local citizen and authorities regarding turtle conservation institutes and got permission to do my project as follows.
I want to raise funds for saving turtles in Hikkaduwa area by making new hatches and advisory signing boards on the beach, which inform the people who visit to see turtles.

Many people accidentally touch the turtles with sunscreen on their hands, and thus it harms them, and many sea predators attack them in the sea as sunscreen caused turtles to shined. So to inform you that I decided to make advisory signing boards along the beach, thus, to reduce the impact of human activities on turtles.

Also, turtle hatches(the surface area which lay turtle eggs) are so small, and I want to establish more hatches in the area. Usually, I get to know that there are about a few hatches that barely can resist with the number of turtles. So I would want to make new hatches in the area with the help of this fund.

Furthermore, I want to publish a book about turtles, their habitats, foods, species, and much valuable information about them. The main reason is to deliver it to tourists come into the Hikkaduwa area to inform about turtles and to avoid the harm of human activities. In addition to that, I would start a fundraising program through this book to relevant authorities of turtle preservations.

Also, I want to publish the research for my final project. My main target is to save turtles in Sri Lanka, and that is what I want to do. My priority is to make Sri Lanka better habitats for turtles without any resistance.

Hikkaduwa is a trendy place in Sri Lanka for turtles, and hence it is a paradise for many tourists and locals. It is also one major tourist attraction on the island. Many tourists come to see turtles.
