My name is Natalia and I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt request. About three years ago, I suffered bilateral retinal detachments where I experienced a significant loss; the majority of my eyesight. I underwent double vitrectomies in hopes of saving my eye sight but to no avail. Since then I have mostly been homebound, navigating life with a new found perspective despite the challenges. I have maintained a passion for life, a deep desire to explore and experience the world in new and unique ways. I'm writing to share with you, my dream of embarking on a journey of discovery. I want to stepout of the confines of my home and embrace life through my other senses. I aspire to meet blind communities across different cultures to learn from their experiences and forge meaningful connections and freindships. One of my goals is to gain exposure to various accessbility tools and technology that empower visually impaired individuals. I'm eager to document this on social media, particularly my Tiktok (@oh_natababes) to inspire and educate back in my home country. I seek encouragement and support to remind myself and others, that life is still worth living no matter the obstacles we face.
