My Travel Story

I was born and raised in Congo, and though I currently live in Kenya, my heart and journey are deeply rooted in my home country. For the longest time, I dreamt of becoming a doctor. After high school, I couldn’t pursue that path due to financial constraints. Determined to find a way forward, I moved to Kenya, where I hoped to study Food Science and Technology.

Unfortunately, my high school documents couldn’t be equated to the Kenyan system, and I had to start afresh at a college level. Even then, I faced financial difficulty that forced me to drop out of my Hospitality Management studies. It was a heartbreaking period, but I refused to give up.

As a former gymnast, I began seeking opportunities where I could use my skills. That’s when I discovered Sarakazi Trust, an organization offering circus education and dance. There, I found my love for dance and theatre. Through hard work and dedication, I met someone who believed in my talent and supported my education in the arts.

I went on to study performing arts, majoring in Dance and Choreography. Over time, I’ve grown into a dancer and choreographer who uses art as a way of expressing myself, healing, and connecting with others. Dance has changed my life.

To give back, I founded BISO Learning, an organization that teaches theatre and dance to children in marginalized areas. We empower children in underserved communities through the arts, showing them that they can dream beyond their circumstances.

Why This Campaign?

In July, I have an opportunity to attend a one-week dance workshop with a renowned dance company in Switzerland. This invitation came after meeting the company at the Kenya International Theatre Festival earlier this year. They recognized my passion, creativity, and potential and invited me to join their workshop to grow as an artist and expand my knowledge.

This trip isn’t just about me—it’s about the children and communities I serve through BISO Learning. By attending this workshop, I’ll gain new skills, insights, and techniques that I can bring back to share with the children I teach. It’s a chance to elevate my work and continue inspiring the next generation of artists.

How You Can Help

I’m raising funds to cover the following:

1. Visa Application: 13,000 KES

2. Flight Ticket: Approximately 100,000–130,000 KES

3. Living Expenses for One Week: 20,000 KES

Total Goal: 160,000 KES (USD $1,100)

What Your Support Means

This opportunity will allow me to:

• Refine my skills as a dancer and choreographer.

• Exchange ideas and learn from top artists.

• Bring back valuable knowledge to empower the children I mentor through BISO Learning.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help make this dream a reality. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to me.

Why This Matters

This journey represents hope—not just for me, but for the hundreds of children whose lives are touched through dance and theatre. Together, we can show them that dreams are possible, even in the face of challenges.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
