My Travel Story

I am raising money to participate in a fellowship in Nepal this summer. I have some money to spend for this trip, but the cost of this trip is equivalent to 2 months of my total paycheck...so anything helps!

For this fellowship I will be learning and teaching so many new things. To start, I will be recieving 100 professional development hours from theachers of different cultures! 

I will have the chance to work alongside teachers from a totally different culture, learn about what life is like for them, and learn so many new techniques and ideas that I can bring back to my own class. I have been doing this in the Dominican Republic, but to travel to Asia is a completely different experience!

I will be able to insert a whole new level of cultural awareness and understanding into your lessons back at home after this Fellowship experience. It is so important for students to understand the world from other perspectives and as teachers we have a big role to play in that.

I will also be delivering really vital training, coaching and professional development to teachers who have, in some cases, received no pre-service training, and very limited in-service training. Imagine trying to do your job with no support, supervision or ongoing professional development. The difference I will be able to make to these teachers' daily teaching practice, and by extension to the lives of their students is MASSIVE!
