My Travel Story

by: Danial Rahimi Start Date: Oct 24, 2024 - End Date: Mar 22, 2025
Short Summary:

We are embarking on a 150-day cycling journey from the North Island to the southernmost point of New Zealand, dedicated to raising awareness about climate change, melting glaciers, and the urgent realities of flash floods by creating documentary series. Our mission includes connecting with the elderly in aged care centers to gather their stories and insights about the changing climate, preserving their wisdom for future generations.

What We Need & What You Get:

To make this journey possible, we need your support. Your donations will help cover travel costs, materials for documentation, some gifts for elderly people in Aged Care centers, and awareness campaigns. In return, you'll receive regular updates on our journey, exclusive access to the stories we collect, and a chance to be part of a movement that honors the past and inspires action for the future.

The Impact:

By sharing the voices of the elderly, we aim to foster meaningful conversations about climate change and its effects on our planet. Our scroll, featuring their signatures and reflections, will be preserved in a museum, serving as a powerful reminder of the wisdom of those who have witnessed these changes firsthand. Through social media, we will amplify these narratives, inspiring others to join the fight for a sustainable and peaceful future.

Risks & Challenges:

Cycling across diverse terrains and weather conditions presents inherent risks and challenges. From navigating steep hills to unpredictable weather, we are prepared for the physical demands of this journey. Additionally, we will work to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants involved in our mission.

Other Ways You Can Help:

If you’re unable to contribute financially, there are other ways to support us! We welcome offers of accommodation along our route, local insights, or connections to aged care centers. Every bit of support helps us make this journey a reality.

Thank you for your generosity and for believing in our mission!
