My Travel Story

by: Maria Isabel Venegas Start Date: Apr 13, 2017 - End Date: Aug 10, 2017
Hey there!

My name is Maria Isabel, I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and I am a student at the University of Montana in Missoula. Here I am working towards a Wildlife Biology degree because I am passionate about animals, and in order to graduate I need to complete an internship on the field. I love traveling and experiencing new cultures, which is why I decided to intern abroad, and for me there is no better place to do so than in South America.
The organization GoEco has this amazing Animal Rescue and Conservation program in Costa Rica (the link is below on More Travel Information) that I really, really, REALLY want to participate in! It is a lovely rescue center where sloths, monkeys, macaws and many other species are taken care of. In Costa Rica, illegal pet trade, deforestation and a lack of regulations on wildlife are the primary reasons why animals end up in these centers and I would love to help them as a volunteer! The amount of money described above will cover both a portion of the fee for the program and the plane ticket. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Here's a video about the program for more info: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrYtPy5kFqc

Thanks for helping me with this adventure!
