Hi! I'm Gwen and here's a little introduction to me! I'll be a sophomore at Colorado State University starting this Fall! It will be my first year there as I'm a transfer student from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. I am a lover of adventure, new foods, and exploring wildlife. I am a dog person but really horses are my animal and soon to be my career as I pursue a degree in Equine Science. I am a twin (and she will also be attending this trip of a lifetime with me!) with no other siblings but currently three dogs who might as well be. Now enough about me, let's get to what you really wanna hear.

A little bit about Semester at Sea: Semester at Sea is a study abroad program allowing students to study while at sea and discover the wonders of the world when at port in each of these wonderful countries. Students gain true college credit for each course through their academic partner, Colorado State University. The faculty are committed to teaching us to be sustainable and conscious travelers. For each class you must also complete a field class, i.e. when we dock in country we must complete some form of experience or work pertaining to the class.

This FundMyTravel is to gain financial support for the voyage of a lifetime! This trip is a once in a lifetime experience that I am absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to embark upon. Anything you donate will go towards tuition, books, in-country programs and adventure, vaccinations, visas, along with any other travel expenses. I am also hoping to travel and explore Europe to round out the adventure of a lifetime so anything would definitely help out! Even if it's just $5 or even your pocket change it would make a huge difference to me and my family because as you can imagine, this will not be a cheap experience(especially when it's x2) but we can all agree that the experiences, friends, and wonders I will see and make along the way are well worth the expense.

This voyage will be going to 4 continents, 11 countries, or 15 cities over a span of 106 days. The time in each port varies but is on average about 6 days. We meet in wonderful San Diego before crossing the border and embarking in Mexico before sailing to our first port of Honolulu, Hawaii! While in Hawaii we are only allowed to disembark if we take part in a field program(traveling with a specified schedule through Semester at Sea) this is one of the specific areas your donation would be going and the same is for when we reach Mauritius. From Hawaii we travel to our first new country of Japan! Then we head to China and dock in both of the wonderful cities of Shanghai and Hong Kong. Next comes Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam before Yangon, Myanmar. Then we cruise to Cochin, India before stopping to fuel in Mauritius and then around the tip of South Africa where we stop in Cape Town. Then we make two stops in Ghana in the ports of Tema and Takoradi before heading up to Morocco and then disembarking in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. From there I'm hoping to explore the surrounding European countries!

I am currently in voyage prep mode and delving deep into the internet to make specific plans. However, some of the things that have made it onto my bucket list include: cage diving with great whites in South Africa, real-life Mario Kart through the streets of Tokyo and exploring the many exciting cafes throughout Japan. Skydiving, a hot air balloon ride, a camel ride in Morocco, and exploring and haggling throughout the markets of India are even more examples of experiences I'm so excited to have! Exploring the many shrines and temples, tasting all the wonderful food throughout every city, learning about each culture and their beliefs are experiences that are sure to leave me stunned.

Total tuition is due October 24th so any amount you could donate before then would be so helpful however, we do not meet to embark until January so anything up til then would still be so extremely helpful! With that said anything given after these would still be so hugely helpful to help pay off all the loans and money that we spent on this wonderful journey! Thank you so much for even considering donating to my adventure of a lifetime! Even if you can't or don't wish to donate a simple share and helping me get the word out could help so much! I still cannot believe this is an experience I have the opportunity to embark on and I'm so extremely grateful for any form of support! Thank you so much!!
(If you would be ok with giving to my GoFundMe instead I will receive more of your total donation than I would from this site! I'd greatly appreciate it and more of your money is going towards where you actually want it! I'll link down below!)
