My Travel Story

Hi, I'm asking for help so we can go on our family vacation. My husband was deployed last year and came home in April. Last year I booked for us to have our first family vacation to California and was able to do so since they had layaway plans. I paid $1700 in total for the hotel which is booked and NON REFUNDABLE. However, now we are getting closer and we are not able to go due to the fact that we cannot afford to get there and pay for our expenses such as gas, food, and anything else that we might need. I was hoping we could use our own vehicle to get there but we have recently been having issue after issue with our vehicle lately. So I am asking for help to make this vacation happen for us. I know this is a lot to ask and we only have until the END OF OCTOBER to make this happen. 
I know there are a lot more pressing matters in the world today than not being able to go on vacation and that's why I hate to ask for help. But anything you can offer will be much appreciated. 
To give you the background of our family we are a family of five, 3 children under the age of 5 and one on the way. I wouldn't ask if the hotel was refundable and we could get our money back but we CANNOT and $1700 is a lot for us right now to just give up. Thank you for your time and help.
