My Travel Story

Ultimately it is my dream to travel the world, immerse myself in different cultures and build relationships and meaningful connections with communities. Being a first-gen student at a university has been a journey filled with blessings, hardships, opportunities and a place where I have found my passions and have broadened my perspectives. I have wanted to study abroad ever since I had met an international student from Japan who I formed a deep friendship with and who made me realize how much there is outside of the U.S. Likewise, they felt the same as the stories and experiences they shared while attending a university in the U.S was amazing to hear and knowing how much of an impact I had on their study abroad journey has inspired me to do the same. My dream destinations are South Korea or Japan. These experiences will impact my education by learning how different and similarly Urban Planning is done in a different country. I also want to continue learning the languages of these countries as I have taken a few courses in them throughout my educational journey which I have enjoyed immensely. Learning another language is important to me because in my field of work, I want to work alongside a diverse range of communities and show my support and intention. What I hope to bring to these places are the things I have learned as a first-gen student, my experience working and leading student clubs in highschool/university and bringing a set of new ideas to collaborate with others and make our field of work a more inclusive and sustainable space.
ANY AMOUNT HELPS OUT!
I will work hard to make this dream a reality. Thank you for your support!!
