My name is Emmanuel Ismaila, and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt plea for your support to help me take the final step toward a transformative opportunity. I’ve been granted a fully funded scholarship to pursue my postgraduate studies at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Russia, Russia—a program I worked tirelessly to gain admission into. However, due to an unexpected policy change, the travel allowance for my flight to Russia has been withdrawn, and I need your help to make this dream a reality.

Why This Opportunity Matters

Growing up in a household with no steady income, I’ve faced countless challenges, but my determination and faith have carried me forward. This postgraduate program at Skoltech is more than just a degree—it’s a chance to gain expertise in my field, contribute meaningfully to my community, and inspire others from underprivileged backgrounds to pursue their dreams. After deferring my admission last year due to financial and documentation delays, this is my final opportunity to join the program and build a foundation for a better future for myself and my family.

My Journey So Far

From a young age, I’ve been driven by a passion for learning and a commitment to overcoming obstacles. Despite financial hardships, I’ve managed to cover significant costs to reach this point, including application and admission processing fees, vaccination/medicals, and document translation and legalization. These efforts reflect my dedication, but with a monthly salary of less than ₦100,000 (~ $60 USD) and no other income earners in my household, the cost of a flight to Moscow remains an insurmountable barrier. I have explored loan options, but the high interest rates and lack of a salaried guarantor made them unfeasible.

Why I Need Your Help

The only remaining hurdle is the cost of a flight ticket to Moscow, estimated at ₦1,500,000 (~$980 USD) , visa fee at ₦250,000 (~$160) and first month living expenses, which is half my stipend at  ₦400,000 (~ $260). Skoltech typically disburses the first stipend after the first month of study, provided attendance and enrollment requirements are met.
