My Travel Story

Hi! My name is Sonia Williams. For years, my dream has been to one day go to China. I've recently decided that I want to be an English teacher there, teaching students about the language and a different culture. Before I fully persue this, I want to find out if this path is right for me.

I've found an excellent program called Be The Change run by Travel Your Hokkaido. I would go to China for 12 weeks during which I will study Chinese, go on cultural excursions, and eventually intern/volunteer in a local community. I believe that this is exactly the experience I need to figure out what I would like to do with my life going forward. This isn't for credits or for vacation, this is solely for education and trying to find what I would like to do in the future. I will be working to earn most of the money for this experience myself.
