In June, I will be volunteering as an English teacher in Kolomyia, Ukraine. Ukraine's president declared 2016 as Ukraine's "Year of English", so GoGlobal started this initiative to have camps all over Ukraine featuring native English speakers to teach young Ukrainian students English.

As a linguistics major, I think it's important to learn how to properly teach your native tongue to non-native speakers abroad before teaching ESL in my home country. 

After I graduate next year, I hope to apply for a fulbright grant to teach English abroad and if I get this experience it will prove that I am equipped with the skills to teach non-native speakers my native language.

I fell in love Ukraine 3 years ago when I was there for a graduation project. I have been trying to go back ever since, but it never worked out. Now I have this amazing opportunity to return with a cause. 

I'm raising the money for my plane ticket, all other expenses are covered by the program. 

This experience will mean so much to me and I can't wait!
