My Travel Story

Hello, my name is David H, and I am an American citizen currently stranded in Lagos, Nigeria. I never expected to find myself in this situation, but I am reaching out for your help to return home to America. I came to Lagos to visit my mother, who has been living here for some time. It was supposed to be a short, joyful trip, but everything changed when she unexpectedly fell ill.


I spent the money I brought with me on her medical care, hoping that she would recover. Sadly, despite all the efforts, my mother passed away. It was devastating. Losing her has been the hardest thing I have ever experienced. On top of the emotional weight, I had to handle her funeral and burial expenses here in Lagos, using up all the funds I had available. 


While I have money in my bank account back in America, my account is locked due to security issues that arose while I was traveling abroad. I have spoken with my bank, and the only way to unlock the account is to be present in person at my branch in the United States. Without access to my funds, I am now stranded here in Nigeria with no way to afford a plane ticket or travel expenses back home.


I am reaching out for your support and kindness in this difficult time. Any amount you can contribute will go directly towards covering the cost of a plane ticket and basic necessities until I can get back to the U.S. Every little bit helps, and I am deeply grateful for any assistance you can offer.


I never imagined I would need to ask for help like this, but your generosity would mean the world to me. I just want to get home, where I can unlock my account and return to some sense of normalcy after this challenging and heartbreaking experience.
