Perfect time for a booming reunion with momma!
My Travel Story
In the quiet spaces between states, where love defies geography, our story unfolds—a tapestry woven with threads of separation, courage, and redemption. For two decades, I and my mother navigated life’s currents apart, yet connected by an unbreakable bond. Now, as life circles back upon itself, I stand at the threshold of reunion, ready to bridge the chasm that once divided us.
For more than twenty years, I've lived in Florida while she lived in Atlanta. Toxic relationships scarred us both, and life’s storms battered us.
She and I individually came around to embraced self growth and self love. Self reflection embraced. I raised my 3 beautiful ladies into women, she started a business that lasted 15 years for quality and customer service skills. She's loved by so many. Battles with cancer, she fought hard.. she overcame. And so did I. These are the roots that anchor our reunion.
The Pandemic Shift:
Covid arrived, altering her senses, distorting flavors. Trust became elusive, nourishment a battleground.
The heart attacks—their silent thunder, the life jacket as fragile armor. Each one a reminder of mortality, of the ticking clock.
I and my mother, celestial bodies converging. The gravity of shared history pulling us together.
My mom said once, sometimes it's better to be absent than to hurt another.
Because she said those words. I had to respectfully and firmly correct her. To me. She is and always will be the most precious woman on the planet. Her absence always makes a void. She is my mom. There's no one like her. No one could be.
Challenging Her Mind:
I want to show her some of the me she missed. My inquiring mind. Curiosity for life, if for no other reason than to see her smile or laugh at me. To go to the water, check out things she does. Visit my grandparents graves.
Anything to ignite her spirit.
Depression, like a shadow, can be dispelled by purpose. Together, you’ll find the light.
The Fundraiser:
Lynn. That's her name. So strong. She is impowering and motivating in obvious and surprising ways.
I aim to ease her burdens. Not just physical—washing dishes, perhaps—but also the weight of isolation.
Help us rewrite our story. Every dollar is a stitch in our tapestry.
As life goes, I will be working toward getting my license back (loosing it for missing car insurance payment)
But until I get that back, I am also trying to raise money to purchase an electric bike. One that would fit the terrain surrounding my mom with needed battery. One would cost $500 to $700 on Amazon. The trip to Atlanta would cost about $400 I'm unsure about miscellaneous needs. I'll post updates, pictures, upload videos. I'd love to also take my mom somewhere that would make her eyes dance..
Conclusion: In this fundraiser, you’re not merely raising funds; you’re weaving hope. The heart attacks may have weakened her body, but her spirit remains unyielding. May our reunion be a symphony of resilience, and may my mother find solace by my presence. She is not helpless; she is a testament to strength.
