My Travel Story

I want to show my daughter how strong our people are & our ancestors were, and where she came from to instill confidence and courage in her. She always says "I can't" and "I'm not strong enough". Elle's quick to be timid and just give up. I want to show her no matter what life throws at you, you can always persevere. I want to show her perseverance is in her blood. Although our people were enslaved, we still overcame that hardship and survived and succeeded where most would have failed.I want to show her the plantation my great grandparents were on. Also, I want her to see the houses my great grandparents built with their own hands. Built strongly with sheet metal and plywood that still stands to this day.
I want her to experience the South that I was raised in. I'd like to show her the graveyard where my father worked digging graves in which he is now buried. I believe that once she sees these places and experiences these sites in person that it will mold her future to be much more appreciative of the frugal life I now provide her.
I'm a single mother working as a security guard with strict Southern values raising an 8 year old little girl. I want her to be proud of herself and to know that no matter what life throws at her, it's in her blood to be strong and successful.
