My Travel Story

Hallo, my name is Shanariha Evans from Mombasa, Kenya. I am a 12 years old musician, author, climate change activist, environmentalist, and an advocate for the protection and restoration of our oceans and marine ecosystems. 
The ocean is an important part of the climate system and its role in climate change, supporting human lives, economies and well-being.
My book THE OCEAN WARRIOR is a children's book that addresses the importance of conservation and restoration of our oceans and marine ecosystems, through fighting irresponsible disposal of  and creating awareness on the effect of plastic pollution to our ocean, marine life and biodiversity.
I conduct a monthly beach cleaning actvities to curb and  reduce plastic waste from getting into the ocean.
I am also on a campaign to plant 5 million mangroves across East Africa and the Nile river to restore our ecosystems.
I also conduct climate literacy programs to 26 schools across Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale Counties in the Coast region of Kenya.
