My name is Scholastica, a young Ghanaian immigrant in America with three young children. I work as a nurse and run a small business, but recently, I've encountered some significant challenges with my business, including debtors filing for bankruptcy while owing us. Adding to this, my mother, who lives in Ghana, has been battling illness for the past year. Sadly, she passed away unexpectedly last week, despite our hopes for her recovery and plans for her relocation to Chicago with her grandchildren and me. Now, we must travel to Ghana to bid her a final farewell. With no one available to care for my children, and recognizing the importance of closure for them as they had anticipated her joining us here, I've initiated this fundraiser to help cover our trip expenses.
