My Travel Story

Hi! My name is Darlene. The reason that I am doing this is because my son has had a roller coaster ride in life. He has ASD and has fought hard to get through school academically and socially. He is constantly picked on and made fun of. This has been going on since middle school. He's gone through many boughts of depression and as his mother, I know how it has affected him throughout the years. But this year, he graduates! Yay! I'm SO proud of him. If you have children that have ASD or similar, you know the battle.
He rode through Sedona with his grandfather coming back from being picked up from seeing his dad who is in the military and fell in love with it. They were not able to stay as they were just passing through. He told me how much he wanted me to see how beautiful it is and I would love to indulge him before he moves away from me this summer to go to college in another state living with his grandparents. Just a trip for the two of us.

If you could find it in your heart to help, I would greatly appreciate it. My son is wanting to sell some of his things to take this trip. I would like him to not have to do that.

Btw, I have done ministry for over 12 years and would incorporate this into our trip.

Wherever we go, I teach him and he teaches me. He is brilliant and we love to explore and learn together. Believe me, this will indeed be an educational trip.
