Hallo Everyone,
Iam Elizabeth Matseshe Kweyu, the co- founder, Matria Institute of Professional Studies anot profit making tertiary learning institution for the young widows and disadvantaged.I took fashion design and clothing technology.After completion of my course i found many of age- mates within my village who left school for marriage,had returned back to their respective homes some as aresult of death of there husbands while others as a result of divorce, frustrations from there male spouses.Since there were about fourteen of them,i therefore, with help of my husband thought to set up a tertiary technical institutions and that how Matria Institute of Professional Studies was born early March 2021.At thr institution young widows and those from disadvantaged families are trained both theory and practical manual sewing process,dress-making and garments,branding and tie and dye at no costs.We appreciate friends, well-wishers and partners like you as we wouldn't have moved this far alone without your support both financial, material and advice.
With the increased day to day learners population who have the desire to gain technical skills to better the community and became self reliant.We appeal for your kind help assist as be able to raise fund to purchase additional (200) manual sewing machines and construct three additional classrooms for our learners.
An estimate $90000 is required for the purchase of the manual sewing machines and construction of the (3) classrooms to continue assisting those underprivileged not only within the one village but in the whole country of Kenya.This year we have extended and admit all young widows within Kenya on 2nd January 2024 when we opened the newly admitted learners are (300) by 2nd March when will close the admitting the learners for this semester.will be almost (1200) as new learners.The good part is that the first patch of our learners graduated and we have retained (50) of them to work as teachers at the institute while other (120) were given new manual sewing machines to move and open up there businesses.
