They say Koalas are going extinct due to the wild fires in Australia, but they’re more likely to be extinct due to the lack of laws protecting the Eucalyptus trees on which the Koalas depend on. The koala's territory is getting smaller because people are cutting down trees and making farms on them. Koalas can only live in one place in the world, Australia and only eat Eucalyptus leaves, so many leaves, the koala starts to smell like it. My goal is to learn all I can about these animals, there interaction, there sleep paterns, when they eat, the sounds they make. I would like to get as many Eucalyptus seeds as I can, plant them and start rebuilding their community. There are animals all over the world but koalas only live in Australia and to me that is so important. Animals are sweet innocent creatures and were here way before us. If koalas go extinct who knows what else could go extinct, Kangroos? When I hear Australia I associate it with the koalas and kangroos. I live in New York and it is beyond meanginful to me to take a trip down to Australia ans see, learn, and interact with the wildlife, and do ALL I can to keep it a float, healthy, and thriving.
