My Travel Story

Hello! My name is Mackenzie Cummings. I am a current student at Ivy Tech majoring in biology. It is my passion to persue a career in wildlife biology and aid the natural world as much as I can. Our natural world is precious and I hope to make a positive impact. I looked into GoEco voluteering and I fell in love with their amazing volunteer opportunities. I am going to be volunteering for one month in Zimbabwe this summer at the Chipangali Wildlife Orphanage. Here I will asist in caring for the animals, cleaning enclosers and feeding. I will also take part in traveling to local schools and teaching children about these amazing animals and how important our natural world it. This trip will help me get a foot in the door and gain some true hands-on experience that I cannot get in my classes. I chose Zimbabwe because ever since I was a small child it was always my dream to travel to Africa. There was always something so magical about it to me. This will be my first trip out of the United States, and helping this Orphanage will be a dream come true.
