My Travel Story

Technology is the greatest equalizer. 
In the covid era, the digital divide has been starker than ever in the area of healthcare. But as the world emerges from the pandemic we have more opportunities than ever to redesign our global healthcare space by funding research in vision sciences.
I have been selected for a prestigious fellowship at a UCLA affiliated Institute which is a global pioneer in vision research and artificial intelligence. I have trained as an Ophthalmologist at high volume tertiary hospitals in India and subsequently followed up with fellowship training in the US. I hope to bring the science of artificial intelligence and telemedicine to the remote, underprivileged population especially children with low vision in India. I hope that this prestigious fellowship will give me the opportunity to break the digital and healthcare barriers with the platform this training will provide.

The intersection of STEM and social good is the culmination of a professional journey and finding this purpose is the greatest career impetus that I have experienced as a physician and researcher.

In the next ten years, I envision myself as a clinician researcher dedicated to helping those with visual impairment. I am also part of a registered charity Healthcare Education Research Foundation (HERFI) and want to help further its efforts by my contribution.
