Title: Help Me Explore the Roots of Sociology in Chicago, USA
Hi, I'm Peter Kagiri Wambue, a passionate Sociology graduate from Moi University, Kenya. I’m raising funds to travel to Chicago, Illinois—the birthplace of the Sociological Perspective and the iconic Chicago School of Sociology. This journey is not just a dream; it’s a mission to connect my academic background with real-world experience.
This trip will give me the chance to visit institutions like the University of Chicago and the neighborhoods studied by early sociologists. I’ll gain firsthand insight into urban sociology, race relations, and community structures—knowledge I plan to integrate into my future academic work and civic projects back home.
After my visit, I plan to hold open forums and mentorship sessions in my community and university to share what I’ve learned. I want to inspire young scholars to think globally while solving local issues through a sociological lens.
Sociology has shaped how I see the world and interact with others. Exploring Chicago’s sociological history is like walking through the roots of the ideas I study every day. It’s personal and purposeful.
Chicago is not just a city; it's a classroom. It gave rise to major sociological thinkers and theories that shaped how we understand society today. Being there will bring those lessons to life.
As someone from a rural background, accessing such global knowledge firsthand will be life-changing. It’s not just about the trip—it's about bringing that knowledge back to uplift others.
With your support, I can turn this academic pilgrimage into something that sparks change far beyond myself. Every contribution counts. Thank you for believing in this dream!
