I deserve this journey because I’ve started to feel numb, trapped in a home that silences my spirit. As a young brown woman, my choices—what I wear, where I go, what I dream—are often restricted. My counselor urged me to travel as a way to breathe again, to reclaim the parts of me that are fading. I don’t see this as escape, but as education—the kind that comes from meeting new people, learning new cultures, and gathering experiences that no classroom can offer. I want to return with knowledge, empathy, and resilience, so I can inspire others who feel caged like me. Your support isn’t just funding a trip—it’s giving me the chance to feel alive again, to heal, and to grow into someone who carries both freedom and gratitude back to the world.
