My Travel Story

Hi everyone!
On the 8th of April, I'll be heading to Africa for a four-month volunteer trip. This campaign page was made not just to raise funds but to also tell you a little about what I'll be involved in and why. I have decided to defer from UWA this year to explore some of the areas that I am really interested in. I then thought that the best possible way to do this would be through a volunteer program because, not only will I be able to gain hands-on experience in medical and conservation work, but I'll also be contributing to several local communities in a positive way.
I have booked 10 weeks of my placements with an Amazing organization called African Impact.
With AI I will arrive in Livingstone, Zambia for my first placement of four weeks where I will spend my mornings assisting in a medical clinic and afternoons within the local community. I'll then head over the border to Vic Falls where I will be involved in a lion and wildlife conservation project for three weeks.
I then have another wildlife conservation and research project in the Greater Kruger area in South Africa for three weeks.
I'll then arrive in Cape town for my last volunteer placement with another great organization called Plan My Gap Year. Here I will spend 2 weeks in a childcare program.
For the last month of my trip, I'll be backpacking the garden route with my PMGY group for two weeks then staying with some family near cape town.
As you can see I have a big trip ahead of me and any support at all would be very much appreciated!
