My Travel Story

What makes me different from any other young person around the world? We all have dreams and aspirations we want to achieve in life. Yet, why is this not possible for every young person? I am very fortunate to be living in London, where access to education is free and I have a roof over my head and I have 3 meals a day. What are you using to read this status - imagine what the money you spent on this device would mean to a young person living in poverty? So, why are people living without, as what we see as basic necessities in order to live?

Thus, I have decided to actively do something about it. I am taking part in an amazing opportunity to travel to Ghana to volunteer for 10 days in July 2017. I will be volunteering in a school to help those children living in poverty to get an education which everyone should be entitled to. There, I will help build and paint classrooms as well as teaching the children. In order to be a part of this experience of a lifetime, I need to raise £1850 to cover all expenses regarding travel and accommodation.

I have always said I will never let money be the reason for me not to do something. I am a student currently studying A-levels. I am constantly working, revising and trying not to stress in order to achieve the best possible grades I can next summer. However, when my school presented me with this experience, how could I say no?  I intend on funding this trip as much as I can myself. To show my dedication, I have been looking for a weekend job as well as juggling little jobs such as dog walking on top of my studies. However, this is where I need your help to fund this experience of a lifetime where I am sure I will make memories that will stay with me for a lifetime!

Please help me raise this amount by donating any money you can or help to spread the word. I have attached a video from the organisation I will be volunteering with to give you a better insight on what I will be doing.

    Sponsored Bridge Walk In London
    Happy New Year! It is now 2017 and just under 7 months before I travel out to Ghana. The campaign on the whole has been very successful and I have had a lot of support from my local community helping me fund raise. It is now just the last final push to raise the last few hundred pounds which remains outstanding.

    On the 15th January I will be taking part in a sponsored bridge walk around London (I have attached the route we shall be undertaking) to help fund raise for my volunteer trip to Ghana.
