Support Kiera's Tokyo Design Internship Journey
My Travel Story
Throughout childhood, I loved pursuing various arts such as drawing, painting, and theatre. As a multi-passionate kid, I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do until COVID hit. During that time, I would play games where I could build houses and decorate the interiors. I found the space difference before and after adding a meaning behind it intriguing. After this, I started decorating my room, and from the lighting to the decor, I felt like I had created a haven for myself during such a difficult time. Overall, I was more interested in the psychology of how a space can affect one's well-being. My passion for this specific kind of design led me to apply to the interior design program at Georgia State University, where I have now been accepted as the Class of 2026 cohort.
Throughout my time studying, I grew an interest in sustainable design and interactive design. I began to grow passionate about elevating ADA in spaces with a blend of these things. Therefore, I wish to expand my knowledge with an opportunity to intern abroad in Tokyo. I believe I would thrive in a country that utilizes both innovative, interactive, and sustainable design to the greatest extent while gaining experience in company projects and travel work.
