My Travel Story

¡Bienvenidos! Me llamo Soraya.
I am extremely grateful and excited to embark on this journey to study abroad in Spain this Fall! I currently am getting a degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and have been studying Spanish since I was 11 years old! While in Barcelona, I will also have the opportunity to connect with a foreign exchange student I hosted long ago in highschool for their visit to America and we are happy to be able to reconnect after all of these years! I am so passionate about this experience, because I have dreamed of traveling for quite sometime and my goal is to meet new people and help others feel understood and connected despite the differences in languages in cultures around the globe! With this experience I will be able to make a difference in communities around the world without the barrier of miscommunication or misunderstandings, people will feel seen and heard and I will be able to spread Gods message across the sea and share my experiences and the great things he's done in my life with others. Barcelona is the city my college offers for this program and I will be graduating next year and the program will no longer be available to me after this. With my knowledge of Spanish coming to its peak other than being placed in a primarily Spanish speaking environment and my dream to always travel and spread Gods word there couldn't be a better opportunity for me than this!
