What do you think about spending a summer on an excavation site in ancient Roman town? Yes, it indeed is just to dig into the ground and bring pieces back to the lab. But doesn't it sound exciting to be the witness of the discovery of Roman history? Now you don't need to actually find a program and fly to Italy. You get a chance to have free access to everything I would have to experience in an excavation program in Carsulae, an ancient Roman town in Central Italy. I will publicly share everything that I would have discovered through social media and blog to all who follow me. You don't even have to fund me to get the access. But for the patrons, each one of you will receive a little gift from Italy. Every single penny that you offer means a lot to me.
This trip does mean a lot to me in my life and in my academic career. I would love to use crowdsourcing fundraising to fund this trip. And if it allows, I would love to share my cultural and art trip to other cities as well.
Self Introduction:
My name is Zhongxiang Wang, a full-time undergraduate student at Saint Louis University. I'm entrepreneurship and studio art double major, with minors in art history and Italian. In my experience with social entrepreneurship, the common good of the community and the future of the society has been my interested field. It also brings a direction to my future business plan. I have spent a big chunk of my spare time dedicating to the community by participating in service leadership programs and doing volunteer jobs. I love to get involved in the community and create social values. This trip is a perfect opportunity for me to get involved in the global community.
As an artist and potential art historian, I am so attracted to Italian Renaissance art history, and the ancient Roman history. An excavation trip would be amazing for me to find treasures of Roman Art History. Academic-wise, the trip would be a great source for my future study and research in art history. It will also be an inspiration in my future art-making career.
