Teaching English & Women Empowerment
My Travel Story
My name is Sophi Vassallo and instead of going to college after graduating high school, I have decided to volunteer abroad! I have always been very passionate about helping others; for example, I have traveled to Guatemala to a children’s orphanage to teach English, healthy habits, women’s health, and more.
This September, I will go to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica for three months. There, I will teach English to help individuals find better job opportunities and further education. I will be improving access to English language education and helping students gain a skill valued by employers worldwide. Afterward, I plan on going to Nepal for a women’s empowerment program to help fight illiteracy. These trips are very important to me because I want to make a difference and gain cultural experience to help fight for equal education and opportunities for all people.
I hope you can help me fund for these trips to aid in my fight for equal rights and education. Thank you for your supporting my journey, anything helps ❤️
