My Travel Story

Taniel and Jordan. Our journey was never meant to be a long one, but life had a different plan for us. Six years ago, we found ourselves far from our island home, facing hardships we never anticipated. Now, we are reaching out, hoping for a chance to make our dreams come true.

The kids, and I had always dreamed of experiencing snowy mountains, something we'd only seen in movies or read about in books. Coming from an island where snow was nothing but a distant dream, we longed to feel the cold snowflakes on our cheeks, build a snowman, and try our hand at skiing.

Our unexpected journey began with a criminal incident that led us to stay in the United States. It has been a trying time, and as we navigated the complex legal and immigration system, I took on any job I could find to make ends meet while giving back to the vuknerable.

Despite my determination, financial struggles became a constant companion, and we had to live paycheck to paycheck. The burden of debt and daily expenses keeps piling up, leaving no room for a vacation or the simple joys of life.

As the years passed, I watched my children grow, all the while yearning to give them a taste of the snow covered wonderland we'd dreamt about. They, now 11 and 14, were full of curiosity and a desire for adventure. Their faces light up at the thought of learning to ski like on television or stories from friends.

Now, these children are hard working gifted and honor roll kids who commit to extra curricula and our small herbal tea business. They are humble and complain about nothing while they go with me to help elderly shut ins on a sabbath. They are filled with compassion which inspires me because of all the horrors they have seen and experienced.

But there's also another dream that lies within this adventure. We want to also seek out ministry opportunity while we vacation because that helps the kids to always share love. We wish to extend our kindness and goodwill to those we meet on our journey. Our hearts are set on sharing warmth with the less fortunate, offering assistance and love to those we encounter.
