My Travel Story

My name is Emilie, I am 22 years old and I'm from Denmark. I am currently on my second gap year, where I work, before I start my education as a paramedic and volunteer firefighter. In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends and outdoors in the nature and with the animals that come with it.

I would like to join the Turtle and Coastal Conservation, because I have a huge interest in Marine life, and after I got my diving certificate, I also discovered how beautiful and fantastic life is underwater and how important it is that we take care of it. So it would be a great joy for me to be able to help and learn to take care of marine life. In addition, I think it would be interesting to try to experience a new country and culture.

I would like to gain a greater knowledge of what I can do to help preserve marine life and generally just gain some more knowledge within the subject.

I think this program would be a great experience and give me a change to get to know the locals and hopefully get some new realtions aboard.

I have choosen Tanzania because I have a big heart for the African people, their courage and their joy for life is not something you find everywhere in the world. Therefore I can’t imagine anything better than getting the opportunity to help, it would mean everything to me.
