Help me Gain Global Healthcare Experience in Barcelona
My Travel Story
This internship is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that will allow me to apply my health science education in a real-world, international setting. Whether I’m placed in a research environment or an office supporting healthcare programs, I’ll gain insight into how science, medicine, and public health work together to improve patient outcomes. The experience will help me develop critical thinking, communication, and cross-cultural skills that will strengthen my foundation for graduate studies and a future career in the healthcare field.
By contributing to a local healthcare or research team in Barcelona, I hope to bring enthusiasm, empathy, and a strong work ethic to every task. Whether I’m assisting with data collection, community health initiatives, or organizational projects, I’ll be helping support the people who make healthcare more accessible and effective. I also plan to bring back what I learn to share new perspectives and ideas with my peers and community at home.
I’m passionate about this project because it combines two things I truly value science and cultural exploration. Learning about health sciences in a new country will allow me to see how different cultures approach wellness, research, and patient care. This internship is a chance to grow both academically and personally, while deepening my understanding of what it means to care for people from diverse backgrounds.
I chose Barcelona because it’s a city that blends innovation in healthcare and research with a strong sense of community and culture. Spain’s healthcare system is globally respected, and being immersed in that environment will help me gain new perspectives on collaboration and patient-centered care. I also wanted to challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone, learn in a new language and culture, and experience healthcare in a truly global context.
This opportunity is meaningful because it represents a chance to grow as both a student and a person. I’ve worked hard in my health science studies, and now I want to take what I’ve learned beyond the classroom and see it in action. Experiencing another culture while contributing to healthcare or research work will help me become a more open-minded, adaptable, and compassionate professional someone who can connect science with service, wherever I go.
