My Travel Story

This journey will elevate my education and career by expanding my global skills, cultural awareness, and international network. Directly strengthening the work I do to uplift others. My goal is to return with new tools, partnerships, and knowledge that empower the communities I serve, and look to serve in the different areas across the globe.
Growing up in a single parent household of nine and never knowing my father, I’ve always felt a deep desire to understand where I come from. That search led me to the 23andMe DNA experience, where I learned that my lineage traces back to Nigeria, specifically the Igbo people. This discovery fueled my purpose to reconnect with my ancestry, strengthen my sense of identity, and inspire others to explore their roots as well.
I chose Nigeria because it ties directly to my bloodline, and I feel called to connect with the people and land connected to my heritage. I also chose Ghana and Tokyo, Japan, two global hubs of innovation and forward thinking to gain new perspectives and ideas that can help shape future community development.
This journey is meaningful because it reconnects me to my roots, exposes me to rich cultures, and allows me to grow while creating space to grow with others. It’s more than travel, it’s purpose, healing, and the foundation for greater impact.
