My name is JUMA Victor a  3rd year university student. I was born in Homabay county,nyanza province in Kenya. Nyanza province  leads in the HIV and Aids prevelance rate among the 8 provinces of Kenya. As per the  ministry of healths statistics of 2023 the rate stood at 35% compared  to the lowest which was  Central province (5%) .This  high rate is attributed by several reasons I.E cultural practices, fish-sex trade, lack of information on various way of mitigation and many more. As a young man who was brought up from this region am passionate about helping in reducing the spread of HIV and Aids in my society.  It is in this regard that I together with my 4 other colleagues from the university we have organized an HIV and AIDs awareness campaign in the six counties of Nyanza province. Our aim is to sensitive  the community on modern ways of HIV prevention, provide information on the existence of PeP and PreP drugs .Discourage the community on engaging fish for sex trade etc. We will move across the  six counties of Nyanza province namely Migori, Kisumu, Siaya, Homabay,Kisii and Nyamira counties .I therefore  have started a fundraiser  to helps us raise  funds for our movement cost ,accommodation ,and food.The campaign will commence on 3rd  November to 22 November  .Our budget estimate  is 5000US dollars .Am looking forward to a positive outcome, thank you in advance.
