In March 2018 I will begin my 4 week nursing placement in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania with Work The World. I will be doing this as a second year nursing student from UCLan University in Preston, I will be working and learning within a hospital and also in the community. I must fund this placement myself and so am asking for your help in being able to have this opportunity in order to further my studies, gain invaluable experience and work with and help the patients in this developing country.

I will be dedicating my time to giving excellent care to the patients and will relish the opportunity to learn in an environment so different to the NHS I am used to working in. By going on this placement I will gain first hand experience of the different health issues they face in Tanzania, such as HIV and how they help people at different stages of the disease. I am likely to spend a short time in many different wards and clinics, giving me a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge. I am really looking forward to bringing the experience I already have to Tanzania in order to help care for the patients.

Thank you for any donation big or small, I really appreciate any help and I am so grateful to be given this opportunity in gaining this experience during my nursing degree.

    First milestone!
I've hit a huge milestone in my fundraising, £1000! This is a combination of my cake sale, the raffle, this page and my own savings. It's all starting to feel achievable now and I really can't thank everyone enough for their support! X

    Raffle!
Last week i drew a raffle to raise funds towards my Tanzanian trip. I had 13 amazing prizes (you may only see a couple in the photo) donated by fantastic local businesses and sold over 250 tickets! The raffle raised around £400. Thank you to everyone who donated and took part and bought a ticket. Well done to all the winners, i hope you enjoy your prizes!
