A Story in the Making
My Travel Story
Update 4/3/2020:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic a few alterations have been made to the dates & university. South Korea is now leading in COVID-19 preperations and has implemented very effective quarantine measures, testings, and research helping to contain the virus.
Study Abroad Plans
I have decided to begin studying in Busan, South Korea at Pusan National University. The program has changed to Fall. I plan to study Korean language and Global Studies. My program will be hosted by ISA, one of the largest study abroad organizations in the United States. ISA has staff in Busan who will help during my stay and also guide us on weekend excursions around Korea and possibly Tokyo, Japan as well.
South Korea has experienced a tremendous economic transformation over the past few decades and remains one of the world's fastest growing economies. Busan is located by the sea and surrounded by mountains. Being the second-largest city in the country, Busan is full of culture and tradition.
Pusan National University (PNU) is ranked as one of the top 100 universities in Asia in the 2019 QS World University Rankings.
I also plan to participate with one of Church of the Highland's ARC churches called Lifehouse, which is a branch of ARC Japan's Lifehouse.
Behind the Vision
Asia holds a special place in my heart. For years, I dreamt of studying abroad and pursuing educational opportunities that will assist in my earning degrees in International Studies and Neuroscience. As a current premedical student, I want to broaden my education.
My goal is to be multi-lingual. You probably could guess...Korean is one of the languages I'm passionate about! I am self-taught in Korean reading skills, although I don't have a high level of comprehension yet.
I want to represent diversity abroad by being a positive influence on my community as well as America itself and minorities abroad.
- In the future, I would like to be an international doctor and advocate promoting international security.
Until then, I am yet committed to doing my very best for people across the globe!
Thanks to everyone who reads this. My payment plan should be set up by mid May. Final Payment dates may be extended.
My program start date is around August 23.
