This trip is so important to me. Although Turtles lay 100's of eggs, only 0.1% make it to the ocean. Therefore, many turtles are becoming extict this is also caused by Littering ;( plastic bags and straws), Poachers who sell the eggs on the black market, and natural predators. 

On this trip I will assist on educating the locals on why they shouldn't poach sea turtles & will be responsible for searching for sea turtle nests, digging up at-risk nests and placing them in a safer man-made nest, guiding mother turtles to shore to lay their precious eggs, monitoring relocated turtle nests and temperatures and taking biometric measurements. I may even have to assist freeing turtle hatchlings and releasing them for their initial journey to the sea!
