My Travel Story

by: Kirsten Landers Start Date: Mar 7, 2020 - End Date: Aug 23, 2020
Hello! My name is Katt Landers. I have an eye condition called Aniridia (no Iris, the pupil is always dilated). I was born with it in both eyes. When I was younger i was sheltered, couldn't go anywhere or do much of anything. I was picked on for having such thick glasses. I could see good enough-ish to go to a public school. It was hard trying to adjust to not being able to read the board or take notes. However I was able to graduate high school. But now that I'm getting older and my sight is never going to get better, I want to see the world before I can no longer see it. This world is a beautiful place and I want to see it for myself. I want to see the whole world but for now I'm okay with just seeing the United States. I've lived here my whole life. I want to know what this country looks like. I want to experience other cultures, meet new people and enjoy life. I don't know when my sight will be gone for good but for now I want to enjoy what I do see! Since I can't drive, I will be having a good friend of mine drive me around. I want to get a tent, air mattress, and cookingware and hit the road. Doing it cheap, I don't need motel or hotel to sleep.

Will you please help my hopes and dreams come true?
