Studying Intensive Spanish in Alicante, Spain!
My Travel Story
My name is Caya and I am applying to study Spanish abroad in Alicante, Spain through CEA CAPA!
One of my biggest inspirations to study Spanish is to develop a closer relationship with my grandpa, Eduardo, who immigrated to the United States as a child. Since moving, my grandpa has continued to follow his dreams as both an artist and hairstylist, which has created a huge impact on the community around him, as well as our family. My grandpa's story has always been a motive for me and has pushed me to follow my own passions through art and film. Studying Spanish abroad will help me gain a deeper perspective and allow me to fully appreciate what my grandpa has passed down to us.
Apart from being able to communicate closely with my relatives, learning and becoming more profficient in the language will also help me in my future film career by introducing me to new culture, perspectives, and language variations.
Specifically, Alicante, Spain is most known for it's rich culture and heritage. Living in Alicante will push me to communicate directly with locals, providing me with a meaningful, learning experience.
Studying abroad is one of my greatest goals before I graduate this year. Additionally, CEA CAPA is a program that I am confident in to help me pursue these goals, however I am just in need of additional financial aid!
