Hi everyone, my name is Katy and I am headed to South Africa to Live with Big Cats! For anyone who knows me, knows that when it comes to animals, I'm beyond passionate. I was always the kid (and still am, sorry mom!) who came home with random animals that I found or signed up to foster. Back in 2012, I was able to volunteer at the Tortuguero Sea Turtle Conservancy in Costa Rica for two weeks. There, I was able to work with locals and release newly hatched turtles into the ocean. It was such a rewarding and educational experience that I've been wanting to do again. So when Living with Big Cats was suggested to me, I didn't even have to think about it. Not only will I be able to take my passion for animals into action, but I will get experience a lot of what South Africa has to offer by working on site and going on outside excursions.
