I'm the first person in my family to attend in-person college, right out of high school. Everyone went right into the workforce and I chose to further my education. This trip is meaningful to me because I have an opportunity to do something no one in my family has done. I get to see and experience a culture outside of what's normal for me. I believe this trip will help me understand and appreciate the benefits I have as an American Student. I will be better for it. 

As a young woman who is committed to learning, this experience will help me better serve my school and my community with renewed compassion and understanding for others. Ultimately, I will be a great representation of my family, my school, my community and my country. 

Being a member of the band has helped me maintain discipline that I will carry throughout my life. It teaches me how to work well with others to accomplish whatever mission is set before us. I'm a part of an amazing team and I don't want to let them down. 

Also, I'd just like to travel to other countries like my mom did when she was in the military. She speaks of those expertise with such pride and joy. I want to do the same, and I need financial support to do it. Thank you!
