My Travel Story

     A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with brain cancer at the age of 42. I woke up in a hospital after being unconcious for 4 days. I had no idea how I had gotten there but quickly learned that I had a series of seizures and would need brain surgery. The worst part was that my then three-year-old daughter saw everything and still talks about it. She spent her third Christmas in the hospital with her mama.
     I couldn't walk, talk or drive, losing all independance that I once had. My husband and I were in our first year of marriage and didnt expect the "for sickness and health" part of our vows to come so quickly. He is my angel. He took off three months of work to bring me to my 37 radiation appointments and countless other MRI and oncology trips. I have completed 12 months of chemo and, while I am not cancer-free, I am ready for a trip! 
    I have not been able to work through all of this, but want to take a family vacation and show my little family how much I love them. I plan to take a NJ to Bahamas cruise and am asking for any and all donations that you may be able to make. I was told that people with my condition typically are given 5 years but I am strong and refuse to let that be. I love my daughter and husband so much and would love to make some happy memories with them after this nightmare of a year. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
