Teaching Ballet to children in the Amazon!
My Travel Story
To have an opportunity to go often to teach these young people would give the dance community of the area a chance for cultural exchange with a professional with international career, bringing the knowledge acquired from ballet masters of first caliber teaching in USA, an opportunity that these children can not afford at the moment. It is easier to take one professional to teach them in Manaus than bring 80 plus children to USA.
CIA. Ballet da Barra in a sense is my child and as parent I am proud of the results achieved this far, with some of our children dance professionally in Brazil, Switzerland, Germany, France and USA. I want to keep on giving to help these children to afford a better life.
CIA. Ballet da Barra is located at an underserved area in Manaus and we work with children at risk. I want to start a second location in Anori, the city that I was born and lived until the age of 9 years old. That is also a way to give back to the place of my roots, I know that there are so many talented children there waiting for an opportunity to shine and develop to a full groomed professional of dance.
I now live in Las Vegas, NV, USA with my wife Carmen, my daughter Tabby (dancer, singer and song writer 12 yo) and my son Angelo (dancer, gymnast and weekend ninja 6yo). Because my life is here I don't have much time or money to go back to Manaus as often, and that leaves me out of the process of formation and maturing of the dance community in my hometown. I know I have a lot to give to help and I hope that I can count on your help to make the dream of many young talented children come through.
