Hey!

My name is Olivia Bell-Shury and I am fundraising for my 5-week volunteer mental heath placement in Bali this September. I am currently working as an Outreach worker for rough sleepers in the borough of Camden and I am due to start a postgraduate course in Psychology at Birkbeck university in October. I was over the moon to be accepted onto this volunteer based placement through SLV.

SLV run projects aiming to help the local community, as well as providing students like me with first hand experience to utilise the skills I’ve learnt while working and studying in field of Health and Social care and Psychology. 

I will be working in a psychiatric facility and interacting with vulnerable people who suffer from various mental illnesses. Additionally, I will also be working with individuals with special needs and teaching English to young children.  I will also be living with a local Balinese family alongside a few other volunteers.

The trip all together will cost roughly £4000+ which includes the placement fee, accomodation, food, flights, travel visa + insurance, jabs, and spending money. However, I’m capping it at £2745. I appreciate you reading this far and genuinely would be extremely grateful with any kind of donation possible!

    I created this page yesterday, and as you can imagine its not easy asking people for money even if it is for a good cause. But, somehow I have been able to raise £105 already. I'm shocked, happy, grateful and excited because this is only the beginning and thanks to Mergim, Tian and Jon I have been given a good head start. I cant thank you enough but THANK YOU. You guys will definitely be receiving pictures and post cards just because !
