My Travel Story

Ok, so I have made a big decision! I have decided to go on a volunteering schoolies trip to Borneo in November 2020!! It is a ten day trip just six days after my 18th birthday!

I have chosen to go on this trip as a way to prove to myself that I can do anything that I put my mind too, that I am perfectly capable of doing such a fantastic thing no matter my circumstances and as a way to open my eyes to the greater world.
I think it's such a great thing to look forward to and a really worthwhile way to end my 13 LONG years of schooling!

I will be going on this trip with a program called Schoolies Unearthed who make schoolies volunteer trips for Australian and New Zealand graduating students.
While on this trip I will be helping out on a sustainable volunteer project and experience a fantastic village immersion amongst one of the world's oldest jungle's, as well as visiting a sanctuary for the endangered orangutan, learning about conservation efforts and seeing these amazing creatures up close and personal.
We will also be visiting a village where we have the opportunity to purchase local products from small businesses to donate to the local school kids. The program would prefer us to buy those things once we are in the country so that we are supporting the local community.

This journey begins well before my bags are packed though, I need to raise all of the funds for the trip as well as get some equipment for travelling.
