My Travel Story

My name is Erick Duran. I’ve been fighting to become a U.S. Citizen for 37 years now and I feel like it's time to come to terms with the fact that the American dream will not happen to me. At least not how I imagined.

I am grateful to the United States for having hosted me for this long but it’s time for me to go. I love the great outdoors. I love to travel. I have a gut feeling that this is my calling. I’ve felt like this for years now and after my near-death experience with Covid-19 back in 2021, I can’t ignore it anymore. As beautiful as this country is, to me it’s just a beautiful golden cage.

I am 40 years old now. I want a family. I want a wife and kids but I have held off that dream for fear that due to my circumstances, my life and that of my family could be destroyed in the blink of an eye. I am not willing to risk it and then have to relocate my family to a place they hardly know because I know how that feels like. I refuse to become another statistic and contribute to another broken home.

This is why I am asking for your help. I want to leave but not before having the opportunity to see all the national parks and monuments this country has to offer. I know that the amount I am asking sounds like a lot of money but I plan to use it to start my business so that I may fuel my travels and help pay for my relocation expenses. I also pledged to give 20% of every purchase done on my website to the national parks that I’ve visited. I have a plan but with my current job and circumstances it would take me years to fulfill and let’s face it; I’m not getting any younger.
