African Adventures are a volunteer travel organisation who are dedicated to changing lives in the UK and Africa through meaningful and worthwhile volunteer experiences. I have chosen to get involved with this volunteer work because I am interested in experiencing life in a different culture and have a passion for being able to make a positive difference to people's lives.
For the duration of this trip we will be based in a small African village called Woe where we will work alongside members of the local community to make a positive impact on the local children’s lives: age 3-17 years. The work we will be doing includes building and renovation work to accommodate the growing number of students and improve their learning spaces; supporting teachers with delivering lessons and sport sessions and finally being able to spend some time playing games and engaging with the children.
The total cost of this trip is £2500. This includes: food, flights, accommodation, all transport in country, organised project work, ATOL protection and more. As you may have realised this seems a large amount of money to raise, so to gain this money I will be fundraising up until April 2019 both individually and with others going on this trip. Fundraising ideas include: bake sales, sponsored swim, sponsored walk, tombola's, curry nights and more!!
I have created this page as a kick start to my funding for this trip and will post updates on what events I will be carrying out to fundraise on this page so please keep check!
I am looking forward to going on this trip and am very grateful to have the opportunity.
Thank you for your donations.
On Sunday 17th February, me and 3 other volunteers are teaming up to swim the same distance as the London Marathon (26 miles). The event will be held at DW gym and will last approx. 12 hours.
Any donations to support us for this event would be greatly appreciated.
