My Travel Story
I have dedicated most of my adult life working within mental health settings, working with vulnerable individuals many of which had experienced significant trauma in their lives and many of their stories will remain with me forever.
I have worked with people in hospital settings and in the community and have had the privilege of gaining an insight into aspects of life that many others may never know. Although there have been many privileges and positive experiences gained in my career there has also been lots of situations and experiences that have been traumatic and challenging, and at times have led me to question whether I remain resilient enough to work within this field.
Despite the challenges, I have continued to work in Mental Health services because I truly care about people and I am passionate about supporting people and helping them during times of crisis and throughout their recovery journey.
As a Mental Health professional one of the most important things I have to do is have an awareness of my own wellbeing and limitations.
My career has had a significant impact on my own health & wellbeing and that is why I would like to spend a period travelling around Australia, getting to know the new country I will be living in before settling down in one area to work as a Nurse.
